In 1989, working as a consultant to Resources for Community Development, Mr. Kashani managed the acquisition and substantial rehabilitation of this property into a rooming house. The property sustained damage from the Loma Prieta earthquake and thus qualified for FEMA funds. Mr. Kashani secured construction financing from FEMA and completed rehabilitation of the property under a very tight schedule.
