

After completing his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at UC Berkeley in 1984, Mr. Kashani worked as a Project Engineer, Cost Estimator and Project Manager for General Engineering Contractors and developers in the Bay Area. In 1990, he completed his Master of Nonprofit Administration at the University of San Francisco, while working as a Senior Project Manager for a Berkeley-based nonprofit developer.
Mr. Kashani has worked with most federal, state and local housing programs, grants, as well as debt and equity financing. He secured Federal HOME funds, Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Section 202 and 811 funds for acquisition and construction of some of his projects. Most recently, he closed on numerous loans with California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) including tax-exempt bonds, Proposition 46 bond funds, first-time home-buyer program, and Special Needs housing funds. He secured over $20 million in state and federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and oversaw syndication and sale of the same to investors.
He has worked with most national banks' community investment groups for acquisition, construction and permanent financing of his developments. CitiBank, Washington Mutual, Bank of America and Wells Fargo have all participated in acquisition, construction and permanent financing of Mr. Kashani's projects. Bank of Alameda has provided acquisition and construction financing for
most of Mr. Kashani's private investments.
